Sylvia Davis   View work at Coda Gallery >

Silvia Davis was born in Cupertino, CA. She received her M.F.A. for
sculpture from the University of Utah. She is best known for her unique wood sculptures, but also works in clay and casts in bronze. She also carved life-size sculpture for the sets of theatre, movie and opera productions.

"My development as a sculptor evolved from a strong alliance with classical sculptural traditions. My images of animals exist not only as character portraits, but as symbols that embrace heroic qualities. My intention is to reveal and five value to the magic and power to their world."

Silvia exhibits nationally and has had numerous one-person shows and has received several public commissions. Her work is collected by museums. In 1983, she received the North American Sculpture award from Denver, CO.

She currently resides in Teasdale, UT.
